WESTON, Mass. – The Regis College men's volleyball team has been picked to finish sixth in the standings according to the New England Collegiate Conference men's volleyball preseason poll, it was announced by the conference offices on Tuesday afternoon. Voting was conducted amongst the league's head coaches.
This season will mark the first season of NECC sponsored men's volleyball. The NECC tournament champion receives auto bid to first ever NCAA Division III men's volleyball championship.
Regis returns two of its top kills leaders from a year ago in Andrew Carroll (Natick, Mass.) and Si Pan Leong (East Boston, Mass.). Carroll and Leong were also near the top in digs while Leong was the leader in service aces (13) with Carroll right behind him with 10 aces. Interim Head Coach Scott Wright hopes that the senior duo plus several other returners can propel the Pride into the NECC postseason.
Endicott received all seven first place votes en route to grabbing the top spot in the NECC preseason poll. Elms finished second with Southern Vermont and Daniel Webster rounding out the top four.
