MEN'S TENNIS MATCH RESCHEDULED DUE TO RAIN
Today’s men’s tennis matchup between Regis College and Assumption College has been postponed due to inclement weather and unplayable court conditions. The match will be made up on Friday, September 30th, at 3:00 p.m. The Pride currently sits at 1-0 on the season while the Greyhounds will have to wait until Saturday afternoon to kick off its fall campaign.
WESTON, Mass. – Today's men's tennis matchup between Regis College and Assumption College has been postponed due to inclement weather and unplayable court conditions. The match will be made up on Friday, September 30th, at 3:00 p.m. The Pride currently sits at 1-0 on the season while the Greyhounds will have to wait until Saturday afternoon to kick off its fall campaign.
The Pride were coming off its first win of the fall following a 5-4 victory over Post University on Sunday. Michael Beluch (Lynn, Mass.) picked up a 6-3, 6-0, win in number one singles and then teamed up with Daniel Berdichevsky (Wayland, Mass.) for an 8-4 win in number one doubles. Andy White (Bozeman, Mont.) and Matthew Smolko (Pelham, N.H.) also had singles wins for the Pride while White and Jonathon Dost (Taunton, Mass.) had the other doubles win for Regis.
Assumption returns all upper classmen this season including three seniors and four juniors. Dylan Baker (Cherry Valley, Mass.) and Matt Drolet (Cumberland, R.I.) led the Greyhounds last season with five singles wins each.
Regis returns to action on Sunday afternoon when they travel to the campus of Franklin Pierce University for a 12:00 p.m. matchup. Assumption begins its 2011-12 season on Saturday when they travel to Nichols College and take on Holy Cross at 12:30 p.m.
