PRIDE SEEDED SECOND, SET TO TAKE ON HAWKS
WESTON, Mass.-Wheelock College and Regis College were tied atop the NECC standings following regular season play. Based on predetermine tiebreakers, Wheelock will enter the tournament as the top seed. The Wildcats (5-11, 4-1 NECC) will face fourth seed Anna Maria (7-11, 4-2 NECC) in a semifinal contest on Wednesday, November 2 at 7:00 pm.Second-seed Regis College (6-10, 4-1 NECC) will host third-seed Becker College (7-11, 4-2 NECC) in the other semifinal on Wednesday at 7:00 pm.
The Pride defeated the Hawks in their last regular season meeting by the score of 4-0. Freshman Cheyenne Genga (South Windsor, Conn.) was a top performer tallying one goal and two assists. On the defensive side of the field the Pride was led by second year goalkeeper Morgan Mitchell (Ashburnham, Mass.) who tallied 15 saves on the game and Sashae Walls (Everett, Mass.) who picked up one defensive save.
The semifinal winners will meet at the highest remaining seed on Saturday, November 5th. Game times are tentative. Teams are seeded on based on predetermined tiebreakers.
