Chris Barroso
Bio

Chris Barroso became the Sports Information Director at Regis College in 2011 for the school's 18 NCAA sponsored athletics teams. Chris looks build on an emerging athletics communication department and continue to increase the media exposure of Regis College and its athletics teams at both the local and national level while improving statistical accuracy and expanding on the historical data of the college.

Chris also handles all of the scheduling for all 18 Division III sports for the College.

Barroso, a 2008 graduate of Nichols College with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration specializing in Sports Management, comes to Regis after spending a year working for ESPN and its Statistical and Analysis team. While at ESPN, Barroso helped cover production for all major college and professional sports including the NBA, NHL, and NFL. Using in-house statistical programs, he provided crucial statistical data that powered both ESPN.com as well as the ESPN Bottomline.

Chris also helped serve as a statistician for the NBDL's Springfield Armor during the 2010-11 and 2011-2012 seasons. Using the NBA's statistical program, Barroso tracked in-game statistics for the Armor and provided the NBA and arena with accurate statistical information. Barroso served as both a primary and secondary spotter for the team as well.

Chris has also previously spent time working as the Sports Information Assistant at Endicott College from 2008-2010. At Endicott, Chris helped cover all 22 of the varsity and club sports of the college, providing media and statistical coverage for all sports. In 2009, Barroso helped oversee the athletics website transition to a new service provider and helped improve the overall image of the website. During his tenure, Barroso helped establish new initiatives including Live Stats, online media guides, as well as featuring Student Athletes of the Week on a weekly basis. Chris also helped with providing webcasts for select home games and was an integral part of hosting the 2009 NCAA Softball Regional held at Endicott College.

While attaining his undergraduate degree, Chris did an internship with the New York Knicks where he served as an Executive Intern in the Basketball Operations department. Chris helped oversee day-to-day tasks including answering the phones and mail of President of Basketball Operations Donnie Walsh. Barroso and another intern were also in charge of inputting scouting reports into the online scouting database as well as ticket deliveries to both the Knicks and all visiting teams to Madison Square Garden.

Barroso is a native of Blackstone, Mass. and currently resides in Waltham, Mass.
