STONE NAMED NECC AND ECAC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Regis College freshman forward Brittany Stone (West Bridgewater, Mass.) has been named the New England Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week in Women’s Basketball it was announced on Monday morning.
WESTON, Mass. – Regis College freshman forward Brittany Stone (West Bridgewater, Mass.) has been named the New England Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week in Women's Basketball it was announced on Monday morning. On Tuesday, Stone was also named the Corvias Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Division III New England Co-Rookie of the Week.
Stone has played in three games in 2015, averaging 16.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks per game, helping lead the Pride to a 2-1 mark in those games. In the two NECC games, Stone scored 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds in a 79-67 win over Daniel Webster. She followed that up with a double-double of 23 points, 10 rebounds, and three blocks as Regis cruised to a 72-29 win over Newbury on Saturday. This is Stone's third straight Rookie of the Week Award.
The Pride return to action on Tuesday, January 13th when Regis welcomes NECC foe Bay Path University to campus for a 6 p.m. showdown.
