Men's Track and Field Celebrate Seniors at Regis Spring Classic
WESTON, Mass. — Under beautiful sunny skies at the annual Regis Spring Classic, hosted by the Regis College track and field program, the Pride celebrated their senior class following the meet. Brady Elliott, Harry Grayson, Zachary Olayiwole, DJ Marks, Ed Power, Riley Stogsdill, and Justin Thuotte.
Inside the Numbers
- Justin Thuotte highlighted the day with a record-breaking performance in the high jump, clearing 1.90 meters to set a new program record, surpassing his previous mark of 1.85 meters. He also took first place in the long jump with a leap of 6.56 meters. Brady Elliott followed in the event with a mark of 5.67 meters and later added a strong showing in the triple jump, finishing with a distance of 12.29 meters, for a personal best.
- Elliott continued his strong day on the track, leading the Pride in the 200-meter dash with a personal-best time of 24.19 seconds. Michael Hatch also turned in a personal record in the event, crossing the line in 25.68 seconds - 0.31 seconds faster than his previous best.
- In the middle-distance events, Brian LaPorte recorded a time of 2:13.26 in the 800 meters.
- The 4x400 relay team of Riley Stogsdill, Brian LaPorte, Nathan Thomas, and Brady Elliott finished second overall with a time of 3:51.02.
- In the field events, Ryan Sweeney led the Pride in the hammer throw with a mark of 37.25 meters, followed by Ed Power at personal best 34.99 meters as the two placed fifth and sixth, respectively. Sweeney also earned a runner-up finish in the shot put with a throw of 12.70 meters, marking a personal best for the junior while Bryan Abreu placed third at 11.81 meters and first year Brock Mcclain finished fifth with a mark of 11.30 meters for a personal best. Mcclain paced the Pride in the discus with a throw of 36.48 meters.
- In the javelin, Regis alum Brett Keisel took top honors with a throw of 50.56 meters, while Ed Power added a fifth-place finish at 37.33 meters for a personal best.
Up Next
The Pride return to the track next Saturday at the Sean Collier Invitational, hosted by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, with events set to begin at 10 a.m.
