Thuotte Sets Three Program Records as Pride Finish Third at GNAC Championships
BOSTON, Mass. — The Regis College men's track and field team finished third overall at the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Indoor Championships, totaling 73 points. The Pride placed just behind Emmanuel College (79.5 points) and four-time defending champion Saint Joseph's College of Maine (215 points). Senior Justin Thuotte continued to cement his place in the Regis record book, setting three program records to lead the squad.
Thuotte captured first place in the high jump with a program-record leap of 1.90 meters and won the long jump with another program-best mark of 6.90 meters. Brady Elliott added valuable points in the high jump with a clearance of 1.80 meters. Thuotte secured his third event title of the day in the weight throw with a toss of 13.05 meters, while Ryan Sweeney contributed a fifth-place finish in the event. Thuotte rounded out his impressive meet with a second-place finish in the triple jump, posting a program-record distance of 13.45 meters.
Sweeney also claimed first place in the shot put with a throw of 13.14 meters, which ranks fourth all-time in program history and marks a personal best for the junior. First-year Brock McClain added key points with a fifth-place finish and a personal-best throw of 11.03 meters.
Contributing on the track, Brian LaPorte placed sixth in the 800 meters, while Yeury Monegro earned a sixth-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles.
The distance medley relay team of Nathan Thomas, Haroun Mafhoum, Riley Stogsdill, and Brian LaPorte secured the Pride's final podium finish of the day, placing third with a time of 11:47.39 to seal Regis' third-place team finish.
The men's indoor track and field season isn't over yet for the Pride, as several student-athletes are set to compete in a final last chance qualifier next weekend in hopes of improving their marks ahead of the 2026 New England Division III Indoor Championships, scheduled for March 1 at The Track at New Balance in Boston.
