Weston, Mass.—The Regis College Athletics Department announced Ryan Chambers as the Outstanding First-Year Student-Athlete during its annual athletic awards banquet.

WILLIMANTIC, Conn. -- Sophomore Chris Robitaille (Canton) sank two free throws with five minutes left to spark a game-ending 12-2 run that lifted the top-seeded Eastern Connecticut State University men’s basketball team to a 66-58 victory over No. 8 Regis College in the opening round of the 2011 ECAC New England Division III Tournament at Francis E. Geissler Gymnasium.

WESTON, Mass.—In The Commonwealth Coast Conference quarterfinal game Tuesday, four-year starter and senior co-captain Phil Alibrandi (York, Maine/York) became the second player in Regis College men’s basketball history to score at least 1,000 career points.

WESTON, Mass.—Senior Derrick Neal (Boston, Mass./Brighton) was announced to The Commonwealth Coast Conference All-TCCC Second Team Monday. This is Neal’s second announcement to the all-conference team. His first recognition came in 2008-09, his sophomore year.

Weston, Mass.—The Regis College men’s basketball team lost to Nichols College Wednesday (Feb. 16) by the score of 77-62. The Pride moves to 14-10 overall n the season and 7-5 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference. The visiting Bison move to 6-17 overall on the season and are 3-9 in TCCC play.

Weston, Mass.—Freshman Ryan Chambers is featured in an article published by the Abington Mariner, his hometown newspaper. Chambers has appeared in all 22 games for the men's basketball team this season. He has scored a career-high 18 points twice this season. Chambers also scored the game-winning basket against conference opponent the University of New England (Jan. 27).

Weston, Mass.—Derrick Neal had the hot-hand in the first half scoring 15 points for Regis College, and helping the Pride take a 10-point lead (44-34) into intermission of Tuesday nights conference match-up with Western New England. Neal led Regis College to a 73-64 victory over the Golden Bears. He also had a game-high 21 points.
