Regis Women’s Volleyball Posts Schedule for 2024
2024 REGIS COLLEGE WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL SCHEDULE
WESTON, Mass. – Coming off an appearance in the 2023 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Tournament championship match, the Regis College women's volleyball team has finalized its schedule for the 2024 campaign, including 11 home matches and a trip to the Tri-State area.
The Pride open their season with a home tri-match Friday, Aug. 30, welcoming Fisher College and Thomas College to campus. The busy Labor Day weekend continues Saturday, Aug. 31, at the Brandeis Invitational in neighboring Waltham, Mass., where Regis will face Endicott College and the host Judges.
On Tuesday, Sept. 3, the first day of classes at Regis, the Pride will host Worcester State, with all students encouraged to come cheer the team on as part of Welcome Weeks. Regis then travels west, starting with a match at Sarah Lawrence Friday night, Sept. 6, before participating in a tri-match Saturday, Sept. 7, hosted by William Paterson and also involving Hunter College.
Regis makes the short trip to Wellesley College for a non-conference match Tuesday, Sept. 10, before a longer trip to Vermont for a tri-match Saturday, Sept. 14, first facing Norwich University in the Pride's opening GNAC contest of the season before taking on MCLA. Another Tuesday road match awaits the Pride as they head to Worcester to face WPI Tuesday, Sept. 17.
In the second home tri-match of the season, the Pride welcome Elms College and New England College for a full day of conference action. Regis Fest kicks off Friday evening, Sept. 27, with the Pride hosting Dean College at Higgins Court.
To start October, the Pride will play seven straight matches away from home, beginning at Lasell Tuesday, Oct. 1. Regis heads to West Hartford, Conn., Saturday, Oct. 5, for a tri-match hosted by University of Saint Joseph and also featuring Anna Maria College.
Back-to-back trips to Rhode Island are next on the docket as Regis heads to Salve Regina Tuesday, Oct. 8, and Johnson and Wales Friday, Oct. 11. After a week away from competition, the Pride head into Boston Saturday, Oct. 19, for a tri-match hosted by Simmons University and also including Mitchell College.
For the first time in 25 days, Regis plays a home match as it hosts Emmanuel College Tuesday, Oct. 22, before a tri-match at Saint Joseph's College of Maine Saturday, Oct. 26, that also involves Rivier University. The Pride host Western New England Tuesday, Oct. 29, before a road match at Emerson College Friday, Nov. 1.
The final regular season GNAC matches for Regis see the Pride host Colby-Sawyer and Albertus Magnus in a tri-match Saturday, Nov. 2. After traveling to face UMass Dartmouth Tuesday, Nov. 5, the Pride close out the regular season Friday, Nov. 8, against Keene State in the Senior Night match.
The top 10 teams in the final regular season standings qualify for the GNAC Women's Volleyball Tournament, starting with first round matches Monday, Nov. 11, and quarterfinal contests Tuesday, Nov. 12. The top two remaining seeds will host semifinals Thursday, Nov. 14, followed by the championship match Saturday, Nov. 16.
In 2023, the Regis women's volleyball team set new program records for most overall wins in a single season and most conference victories in a single year, posting a 26-8 (.765) overall mark and a 14-1 (.933) league record. The Pride won tournament matches over Emmanuel and Saint Joseph's College of Maine to advance to the title match at home against Lasell University.
Regis College sponsors 19 intercollegiate sports, including women's volleyball, within NCAA Division III as a member of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference.
