PRIDE GET THREE FIRST PLACE VOTES, FINISH SECOND IN POLLS
The Regis College women’s volleyball team (2-2) earned three first place votes and was selected to finish second according to the 2014 New England Collegiate Conference women’s volleyball preseason polls.
ATTLEBORO, Mass. – The Regis College women's volleyball team (2-2) earned three first place votes and was selected to finish second according to the 2014 New England Collegiate Conference women's volleyball preseason polls.
With seven upperclassmen returning including 2013 All-NECC First Team representative, outside hitter Kristina de Rey (Miami, Fla.), Regis College was selected to finish second with a total of 70 points. The Pride made it to the conference championship game against Southern Vermont College last season following a 14-18 overall record and 6-2 record against NECC foes.
The three-time NECC Champion Mountaineers earned five first place votes en route to being selected as the top team in the preseason poll. Newbury grabbed the final first place vote and was selected to finish third, while Daniel Webster was picked fourth. Rounding out the polls were Lesley, Mitchell, Elms, Becker, and Bay Path.
