WESTON, Mass. – After two straight trips to the New England Collegiate Conference Championship match, the Regis College women's volleyball team hopes to break through in 2014 when their season begins on Friday, August 29.
The team's annual Pride Invite begins the season with WPI, MIT, Becker, Regis, Gordon, and Eastern Nazarene making up the six team field. Regis will take on Becker in a non-league game to start the Invite followed by a matchup with WPI in the final match of the Friday slate of games. On Saturday afternoon, five other matches will take place with the Championship match taking place at 2:00 p.m.
Regis travels to Eastern Nazarene on September 3 for a non-league match after splitting two matches last season. The Pride return home for two matches on September 9 and 11 when they host Anna Maria and Lasell College. Regis fell to Lasell 3-0 last season and take on AMC for the first time since 2012. The Pride are 20-1 all-time against the AMCATS dating back to the 1994 season.
A seven game road-stretch greets the Pride midway through September starting with a tri-match at Rivier University between the Pride, Raiders, and Emerson College on September 13. Regis travels to Gordon (September 16) and Southern Maine (September 18) before taking on Simmons and Framingham State in a tri-match at Simmons on September 20.
