FREDERIQUE LIFTS PRIDE IN GAME FIVE

Weston, Mass.-It would take all five games for Regis College to win its Friday night match against Lasell College (25-19, 25-23, 20-25, 21-25, 15-13). Melissa Frederique (Manchester, NH) would strike down a Laser attempt at scoring for Lasell College (8-16, 4-5 GNAC), giving Regis College (13-15, 3-6 TCCC) the 15-13 game five victory.

Down two games (25-19, 25-23) respectfully, the Lasers refocused to take away a sure match win from the Pride, defeating Regis College 25-20 in game three.

Attempting to stay alive, Regis looked for guidance from its senior Ashely Paolini (Epping, NH), but even the senior would be unable to spur the Pride in game four, losing 25-21.

Paolini had a match-high 16 kills, with senior Samantha Reyes (Attleboro, Mass.) assisting with 40 on the night.

With Lasell College ahead 9-7 in game five, they would score 13 while the Pride looked on with only 10 points on the board. Regrouping after a Regis timeout, the Pride showed exactly that, tying the game at 13 all, before Frederique would send two attacks down for points.

Regis College will play in the Framingham State tournament Saturday, Oct. 25. Lasell College heads to Pine Manor on Oct. 28.
