Women's Track and Field Picked Fourth in GNAC Pre-Championship Poll
WESTON, Mass. -- As voted on by coaches across the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC), the Regis women's track and field team has been picked to finish fourth with 18 points, just one point behind Colby-Sawyer. Emmanuel College, last year's runner-up, earned the top spot with 34 points and four first-place votes as it looks to capture its first title since 2023. Saint Joseph's College of Maine sits close behind in second with 32 points and the remaining two first-place votes. This year's championship meet will be held at Saint Joseph's College of Maine this Saturday and Sunday.
The Pride will rely on a strong rookie class complemented by experienced leadership. Zoe Kirk, a three-time Rookie of the Week, has been a standout all season. She proved her ability on the big stage with a first-place finish in the high jump at the indoor championships, setting a program record. During the outdoor season, she has continued to shine, currently holding the fastest time in the GNAC in the 100-meter hurdles at 15.90 seconds. Kirk also ranks second in the conference in the triple jump (10.31m) and fourth in the high jump (1.47m), another program record set earlier this season.
On the track, Lily Griffin and Olivia Dench have consistently ranked among the top performers in the GNAC, both sitting inside the top five in the 100 meters. Hannah Griffin has also made her mark in the 400 meters, placing fifth among the conference while Aleyo Amasa-Titus sits in fifth in the 200.
In the field events, Grace Micklon leads the way in the pole vault, currently ranked second in the GNAC after a runner-up finish at the indoor championships. Rookies Alexsía Lampkin and Sophia Anderson have also contributed in the jumps, both ranking in the top 10 in the long jump, while Anderson sits fourth in the triple jump and second among rookies, just behind teammate Kirk.
Regis will be guided by senior leadership from Micklon, Olivia Dench, Pilar Brown, and Isabella Clark, who bring valuable championship experience into the weekend as the Pride look to make their mark at the GNAC Championships.
