Benvegnu Represents Women's Track and Field on Sportsmanship Team
WESTON, Mass. — Following the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Indoor Championships held two weeks ago at Boston University, the Regis College women's track and field program celebrated multiple athletes earning All-Conference recognition. Julia Benvegnu was also honored with a selection to the GNAC All-Sportsmanship Team. All All-Conference teams were determined by athlete finishes at the championship meet.
Leading the honorees was Zoe Kirk, who captured first-place recognition in the high jump with a program-record leap of 1.56 meters. Kirk also earned All-Conference honors for her performances in the triple jump (10.42m) and the 60-meter hurdles, where her preliminary time of 9.68 seconds ranks as the fastest ever by a first-year in program history and the second fastest overall. Her triple jump mark moves her to third all-time in program history.
The 4x400-meter relay team - Olivia Dench, Aleyo Amasa-Titus, Julia Benvegnu, and Hannah Griffin - also earned All-Conference recognition with a season-best time of 4:18.70, the third fastest in program history.
Grace Micklon picked up runner-up recognition in the pole vault with her season-best mark of 2.45 meters.
Olivya Bush earned All-Conference honors in the 800 meters with a mark that ranks third in program history.
Julia Benvegnu was recognized not only for her relay performance but also for her leadership and character, earning a spot on the GNAC All-Sportsmanship Team for consistently competing the right way and representing the Pride with integrity.
