Kirk Leads Wave of Personal Records in Third-Place Finish at the GNAC Championships
BOSTON, Mass. — The Regis College women's track and field team placed third at today's Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Indoor Championships, hosted at Boston University. The Pride totaled 64 points, finishing behind second-place Saint Joseph's College of Maine (156 points) and conference champion Emmanuel College (165 points). The meet was highlighted by a program record from Zoe Kirk, along with numerous personal bests and standout performances across the roster.
Kirk opened the day with a first-place finish in the high jump, setting a new program record with a leap of 1.56 meters, surpassing her previous mark from earlier this season. She continued her impressive showing with two additional podium finishes, placing third in both the triple jump and the 60-meter hurdles. Her preliminary time of 9.68 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles ranks as the fastest ever by a first-year athlete in program history and the second fastest overall. Kirk's triple jump distance of 10.42 meters moves her to third all-time in program history. All three of Kirk's events — the high jump, 60-meter hurdles, and triple jump — marked personal-best performances.
First-year Sophia Anderson also delivered a strong performance in the triple jump, finishing fifth with a leap of 10.16 meters to earn key points for the Pride. Anderson narrowly missed the podium in the long jump as well, placing fourth with a 4.77-meter effort, just ahead of Aleyo Amasa-Titus, who recorded a 4.76-meter jump. Both of Anderson's jumps were personal bests.
Olivya Bush earned a podium finish in the 800 meters, placing third with a time that ranks third in program history. Amasa-Titus and Lily Griffin added valuable points in the event, finishing fifth and sixth, respectively. Griffin also led Regis in the 60 meters, finishing fourth overall in 8.46 seconds, while Julia Benvegnu recorded the team's fastest 60-meter time of the day in prelims at 8.35 seconds. Benvegnu later added a seventh-place finish in the 400 meters with a personal-best 1:03.52, while Hannah Griffin posted a personal-best 1:02.71 to finish sixth in the same event. Lily Griffin recorded personal bests in both the 60 and 200 meters, while Bush added a personal best in the 200 meters. Christie Derival also turned in a personal-best performance in the 60 meters.
Additional personal bests on the track came from Cecelia Lazara and Ayuaska Tamang in the 800 meters, while Alexsía Lampkin recorded personal bests in both the 200 meters and long jump. In the field events, Lily Sedam achieved a personal best in the weight throw.
The quartet of Olivia Dench, Aleyo Amasa-Titus, Julia Benvegnu, and Hannah Griffin secured Regis' final medal of the meet in the 4x400-meter relay, finishing second overall with a time of 4:18.70. The performance marked the team's fastest relay time of the season and the third fastest in program history.
The women's indoor track and field season isn't over yet for the Pride, as several student-athletes are slated to compete in a final "last chance" qualifier next weekend to post marks before the 2026 New England Division III Indoor Championships on March 1 at The Track at New Balance in Boston.
