Track and Field Bring Small Crew to Beacon Season Opener
BRIGHTON, Mass. — The Regis College indoor track and field program sent a small group of field athletes to the Beacon Season Opener at The Track at New Balance on Sunday, where three members made their collegiate debuts in the Crimson and Gold.
Brock Mcclain paced the Pride in the weight throw, placing sixth with a toss of 9.71 meters in his first collegiate meet. He was followed by Griffin McGahan (9.27m) and fellow first-year Chris Salazar (8.28m).
Mcclain continued to lead the Regis men in the shot put with a mark of 10.33 meters, while Salazar registered a strong debut performance of 9.89 meters.
On the women's side, first-year Lily Sedam posted an 8.53-meter throw in the shot put, finishing just .02 meters behind the competitor ahead of her. She also took on a new event, recording a toss of 7.80 meters in the weight throw.
The Pride will now break for the holidays before returning to action on January 10 at Wesleyan University.
