MURPHY, JARVIS WIN NECC WEEKLY AWARDS
Regis College junior Erica Murphy (Manchester, N.H.) has been named this week's New England Collegiate Conference women's tennis Player of the Week, while teammate Kat Jarvis (Mt. Vernon, N.Y.) has been named the Rookie of the Week, it was announced Monday afternoon.
WESTON, Mass. – Regis College junior Erica Murphy (Manchester, N.H.) has been named this week's New England Collegiate Conference women's tennis Player of the Week, while teammate Kat Jarvis (Mt. Vernon, N.Y.) has been named the Rookie of the Week, it was announced Monday afternoon.
Murphy helped lead the Pride to their first win of the year, an 8-1 victory over Eastern Nazarene. Murphy teamed with Jessie Lord (Fall River, Mass.) for an 8-5 win at No. 1 doubles, and followed that up with a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles.
Jarvis also helped lead the Pride to their first win of 2015. Against Eastern Nazarene, Jarvis earned her first collegiate point with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep at No. 4 singles over Julie Sutton.
Regis returns to the courts on Thursday, September 10th for their home opener against Johnson & Wales University at 4:30 p.m.
