Pride Swim and Dive Sweep GNAC Swim Honors
WESTON, Mass. — Sophia Caruso, Christina Dupre-Honda, Ryan Kim, and Michael Zammuto earned Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly honors following their final regular-season meet at Brandeis this past Friday.
Freshman Sophia Caruso was named GNAC Swimmer and Rookie of the Week after capturing first place in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:05.55, finishing more than eight seconds ahead of the field. She also topped the podium in the 100 freestyle, posting a personal-best time of 54.97, which ranks fourth all-time in program history. The accolades mark Caruso's sixth Rookie of the Week and third Swimmer of the Week honors, giving her nine total weekly awards during her rookie campaign.
Fellow freshman Christina Dupre-Honda earned GNAC Diver of the Week recognition after claiming first place and setting a personal-best score of 420.16 on the one-meter, 11-dive board. Her performance ranks third all-time in program history and marks her fifth weekly award of the season.
On the men's side, senior Ryan Kim was named GNAC Swimmer of the Week after posting a season-best time of 2:09.60 in the 200 individual medley at Brandeis, marking his second weekly honor of the year. Senior Michael Zammuto earned GNAC Diver of the Week honors for the fifth time this season after winning the one-meter, 11-dive event with a score of 305.5.
The quartet will compete alongside their teammates this weekend at the GNAC Swimming and Diving Championships, scheduled for Friday, February 6 through Sunday, February 8 at the Worcester Polytechnic Institute pool.
