Women's Swim and Dive Compete at the Albertus Quad
NEW HAVEN, Conn. — After a hiatus and training trip to Puerto Rico, the Regis swim and dive team returned to action yesterday, Saturday, January 17, competing against Albertus Magnus, Western New England University (WNE), and UMass Dartmouth (UMD).
Inside the Numbers
- Vera Rivard posted a second-place finish in the 1,650 freestyle, clocking a personal-best time of 22:17.41. She was followed by her sister, Margaret Rivard, who placed fourth overall with a time of 22:58.38.
- Ava Hubster recorded a season-best time of 2:20.79 in the 200 freestyle and followed it up with a personal-best performance in the 200 breaststroke, touching the wall in 3:00.38.
- Sophia Caruso claimed first place in the 50 freestyle with a time of 25.97, edging the runner-up by more than a second. She followed that performance with another top finish in the 100 freestyle, touching the wall in 55.32. Caruso also posted a women's swim and dive season-best time of 1:10.48 in the 100 backstroke to earn a runner-up finish, followed by Emma Tirri, who clocked in at 1:12.30.
- Sophia Nylin earned a top-three finish in the 100 breaststroke, placing third overall with a time of 1:21.94. She also recorded a fifth-place finish in the 200 breaststroke, touching the wall in 3:12.23.
- On the diving board, Christina Dupre-Honda recorded a score of 190.80 in the one-meter, six-dive program.
