WAYLAND, Mass. - On Sunday, Nov. 3rd, the Regis College women's lacrosse team volunteered at the 5th annual Katie Lynch Half Marathon & 5k. The race is held in honor of Lynch, a summa cum laude graduate of Regis College, who served as a motivational speaker and helped raise thousands of dollars for the Children's Hospital Boston.
Seven student-athletes helped prepare and distribute water and Gatorade at two water stations of the half marathon route. The lacrosse team members enjoyed cheering on the runners and being apart of a great cause. The event ended up with over 550 runners, many of whom were first time participants of the race.
The race is sponsored by The Katie Lynch Foundation, which was created in Katie's honor to continue her dedication towards decreasing the social and physical barriers the disabled community faces during their everyday lives.
