MARRO GRABS NEWBA WEEKLY AWARD
Junior guard Emilee Marro (Bedford, N.H.) has been named to the New England Women’s Basketball Association (NEWBA) Honor Roll this week, it was announced on Monday night.
WESTON, Mass. – Junior guard Emilee Marro (Bedford, N.H.) has been named to the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) Honor Roll this week, it was announced on Monday night.
Marro averaged 17.7 points and 2.7 rebounds over three games this past week. She scored 24 points in a 69-58 win over Clark (Mass.) on Monday, while also adding one rebound and one steal. She put up 15 points in the CUA-Fairfield Inn Washington D.C. Holiday Tournament Championship against host Catholic the following day, and added three rebounds, three assists, two steals, and one block. Marro was named to the All-Tournament Team for her efforts. Marro closed out the week by putting up 14 points, four rebounds, five assists, and two steals in a loss to No. 7 Tufts on Saturday.
The junior currently leads the Pride at 17.0 points per game and is shooting 43.4% from the field. She is third on the team in rebounding at 4.9 rebounds per game, and leads Regis in assists (2.6 apg), and steals (2.6 spg).
Marro and the Pride (6-4, 3-0 NECC) return to NECC action on Tuesday night with an 8:00 p.m. tilt at Bay Path College.
