MARRO & HAWKESWORTH SWEEP NECC WEEKLY AWARDS
Junior Emilee Marro (Bedford, N.H.) and freshman Amanda Hawkesworth (Abington, Mass.) have been named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively, it was announced by the league's offices on Monday afternoon.
WESTON, Mass. – Junior Emilee Marro (Bedford, N.H.) and freshman Amanda Hawkesworth (Abington, Mass.) have been named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively, it was announced by the league's offices on Monday afternoon. Marro and Hawkesworth helped lead the Pride to their first victory of the season in a 75-62 win over Colby on Tuesday evening.
Marro, playing in her first game since returning from injury, scored a game and career-high 29 points on 9-for-16 shooting in the win over the Mules. The third-year guard also added nine rebounds, five assists, six steals, and one block in the victory. Hawkesworth registered her third consecutive double-double for the Pride off of 14 points and ten rebounds. The rookie forward also added four assists in the win. She currently averages 14.0 points per game, 10.0 rebounds per game, and 2.3 assists per game.
Regis (1-2) opens up conference play tomorrow evening when they host Lesley at 6 p.m.
