Evan Shank Leads Pride with Record 48-Assist Match, Earns Weekly Honor
WESTON, Mass. — Junior Evan Shank continues to solidify his status as one of the top setters in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC), earning back-to-back and his fifth GNAC Setter of the Week honor. This marks the second time this season he has claimed consecutive Setter of the Week awards, previously earning recognition for the weeks of February 16 and February 23.
Shank totaled 106 assists during a 1-2 week for the Pride. He opened with 22 assists in a loss to nationally ranked Wentworth Institute of Technology, followed by 36 assists (12 a/s) and six digs in a sweep over Sarah Lawrence. He capped the week by setting a new program record for a four-set match with 48 assists against St. Joseph's (L.I.), adding 12 digs. Across the week, Shank also contributed five aces and 20 digs.
Currently, Shank leads the GNAC with 759 assists and an average of 9.37 assists per set.
The Pride return home Thursday for a GNAC matchup against Dean College at 7 p.m., partnering with The Hidden Opponent for a mental health awareness match.
