Men's Volleyball Selected to Finish Second in NECC Preseason Poll
The Regis (Mass.) men's volleyball team received one first place vote in the New England Collegiate Conference preseason coaches poll, which saw them land in second place.
ATTLEBORO, Mass. - The Regis (Mass.) men's volleyball team received one first place vote in the New England Collegiate Conference preseason coaches poll released on Wednesday, which saw the team land in second place.
The Gulls of Endicott College, the four-time defending NECC champions, topped the poll, earning six out of the seven possible first place votes for a total of 48 points. The Pride earned 41 points to finish in the runner-up position. Behind Regis was third-place Elms with 33 points, followed by Newbury, Southern Vermont, first-year program and associate NECC member Eastern Nazarene and Lesley.
Last season, the Pride finished second in the regular season, but was upset by third-seeded Daniel Webster in the conference semifinals. The Eagles will not, however, field a team in 2017.
The Pride will take to the floor in under two weeks to commence their 2017 season when they host MIT on Tuesday Jan. 24 at Higgins Court. First serve is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
