MEN'S VOLLEYBALL ANNOUNCES 2015 SLATE OF GAMES
Fourth year head coach Scott Wright is proud to announce the 2015 match schedule for the Regis College men’s volleyball team. This season schedule will feature 13 non-conference opponents and 10 home matches.
WESTON, Mass. – Fourth year head coach Scott Wright is proud to announce the 2015 match schedule for the Regis College men's volleyball team. This season schedule will feature 13 non-conference opponents and 10 home matches.
The Pride are hoping to build upon their 12-11 mark and the program's first ever New England Collegiate Conference Tournament appearance.
Returning for Regis is reigning NECC Rookie of the Year, outside hitter Sean Bisnett (Oxnard, Calif.). Bisnett averaged 3.60 kills and 2.04 digs per set while maintaining a .276 hitting percentage over 12 conference matches. He also ranked among the top four leaders for both conference play and overall play in five different categories, including total kills (273), kills per set (3.37), service aces (32), points (320), and points per set (4.0).
The Pride opens the season on January 28th when they square off against Lasell College. Regis then ships off to Boston three days later for a tri-match hosted by MIT on January 31st. The Pride square off against the host Engineers at 10:00 a.m. and then play against Wentworth at noon.
After a week layoff, Regis travels to Keuka Park, N.Y. to take part in the Keuka College Invitational on February 7th and 8th. The Pride will open up the Invite with a contest against Bard College on Saturday the 7th at 3:00 p.m. and at the conclusion of their match will square off against SUNY Poly at 6:00 p.m. Regis will close the tournament on Sunday with games against Sage (11:00 a.m.) and the host Wolfpack (1:00 p.m.)
Regis returns home after the six match road-trip to host four straight matches. The Pride open their conference slate of games against Endicott College on February 10th at 7:00 p.m. Four days later, the Pride host their first tri-match of the season on the 14th in a matchup with conference foe Southern Vermont (11:00 a.m.) and Emerson (3:00 p.m.). Regis ends their brief home stand on February 16th when they welcome Mount Ida to Weston at 6:00 p.m.
The Crimson and Gold head back out on the road where six of the next eight games are played away from Higgins Court. Regis hits the road for the next two away matches with the first, against Emerson on February 19th at 6:00 p.m. and two days later on the 21st, the Pride return to Beantown for a 4:00 p.m. showdown with the Saints.
Regis returns to Weston on February 25th for the first of four straight conference matches. The Pride host Daniel Webster at 7:00 p.m. before heading back out on the road for the next four matches. The Crimson and Gold wrap up the month of February on the 28th when they square off against Southern Vermont at 1:00 p.m.
The Pride continues their road swing after a week layoff by heading out to Endicott for their first match of March on the 10th with game-time listed at 7:00 p.m. Two days later, on March 12th, Regis heads back into the city for a match with Lesley at 8:00 p.m. That weekend, The Crimson & Gold head down south to Providence where Johnson & Wales (R.I.) will host a tri-match. The Pride will face Sage at noon and then play the Wildcats at 2:00 p.m.
Regis returns to Weston for a St. Patrick's Day matchup against conference foe Elms at 7:00 p.m. Four days later, the Pride will also host their last tri-match of the season on March 21st where they welcome Newbury (11 a.m.) and CCNY (3:00 p.m.)
The regular season will wrap up with three-of-four games on the road all against conference opponents. The Crimson & Gold will travel to Daniel Webster (March 25th) and Elms (March 28th) before heading back home for a match against Lesley (March 30th) and ending the regular season against Newbury on April Fool's Day (April 1st)
The NECC Tournament begins with the Semifinals to be played on April 10th and the Championship Game to be played a day later on April 11th.
