Thuotte and Kirk Bring In GNAC Weekly Honors Following Regis Spring Classic
WESTON, Mass. — Senior Justin Thuotte was named Field Athlete of the Week, while Zoe Kirk earned her third consecutive Rookie of the Week honor from the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) following Friday's Regis Spring Classic.
At the Regis Spring Classic, senior Justin Thuotte delivered a standout performance, breaking his own program record in the high jump with a clearance of 1.90 meters, surpassing his previous mark of 1.85 meters. He also claimed first place in the long jump with a leap of 6.56 meters.
Zoe Kirk led the way at the Regis Spring Classic with a first-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles, posting a DIII New England automatic qualifying time of 15.90 seconds, which ranks first in the conference. She also recorded a personal-best mark of 10.31 meters in the triple jump to place second on the leaderboard, while adding a runner-up finish in the high jump with a clearance of 1.46 meters - just 0.01 meters shy of her own program record.
Thuotte and Kirk are back in action this Friday at the Bridgewater State Bears Invitational.
