REGIS PICKS UP SIXTH-STRAIGHT WIN
Regis College moved to a perfect 3-0 in the New England Collegiate Conference and grabbed its sixth-straight win with an 8-1 victory over Newbury College on Monday night in NECC men’s tennis action at the Longfellow Racquet Club. The Pride improve to 6-5 overall, while Newbury falls to 2-2 and 0-1 in league games.

The Pride improve to 6-5 overall, while Newbury falls to 2-2 and 0-1 in league games.
Regis took an early 3-0 lead following doubles play as current NECC Player of the Week Michael Beluch (Lynn, Mass.) and NECC Rookie of the Week Jarid Polley (Reading, Mass.) swept John Morgan (Cumberland, R.I.) and Gerard Font-Raventos (Barcelona, Spain), 8-0, at No. 1 doubles.
Nathan Cohen (Randolph, Mass.) and Jeremy Morgenbesser (Bayport, N.Y.) added an 8-4 win at No. 2 doubles, and Andy White (Bozeman, Mont.) and Austin Nace (Sarasota, Fla.) defeated Wayne Gethers (Cambridge, Mass.) and Antonios Tran (Chelsea, Mass.) at No.3 doubles by a score of 8-6.
Beluch and Polley carried their strong play over to singles action as Beluch posted a 6-1, 6-0 win over Christian Repunte (Burlington, Mass.) and Polley picked up a win at No. 4 singles over John Morgan by the matching score. Morgenbesser added a win at No. 2 singles also by the same score, while Nick Hildreth (Harvard, Mass.) and Jeff Parrish (Framingham, Mass.) recorded wins at No. 5 and No. 6 singles, respectively.
The Nighthawks lone point of the night came at the No. 3 singles position as Antonios Tran defeated Nathan Cohen, 6-3, 6-3.
Both teams are back in action on Tuesday afternoon as the Pride travel to Mitchell College for a 3:30 p.m. NECC match and Newbury hosts Wheelock in a conference match at the same time.
