How It Happened
Rivier set the tone early, opening the scoring just under two minutes in on a goal from Mason Schultz and controlling possession off the faceoff. Regis responded midway through the first quarter as Jack Jaynes found the back of the net to even things at 1–1, but Rivier quickly regained momentum behind a pair of goals from James DelPrete and a man-up finish from Conor Walsh to take a 4–1 lead. Despite strong saves from goalie Devin Hammon, Rivier continued to generate consistent offensive pressure. In the second quarter, Rivier extended its lead with another goal from Colin Foley and added to it late with scores from Schultz, building a 6–1 advantage. Regis showed signs of life late in the half, as Jaynes netted his second goal off an assist from Matt Cabassa, but Rivier maintained control and carried a 6–2 lead into halftime.
The second half saw Rivier pull away decisively, opening the third quarter with a goal from Schultz and continuing a dominant scoring run fueled by Walsh and Aiden Conley. Rivier's offense found its rhythm, consistently capitalizing on possessions and stretching the lead to 11–2 by the end of the third quarter. Regis broke through early in the fourth on a man-up goal from Alex Dougenik, but Rivier answered with another surge, highlighted by multiple goals from Schultz and Andrew Nee. Hammon continued to battle in net with several key saves, but Rivier's depth and efficiency proved too much. A late goal from Cabassa capped the scoring for Regis, as Rivier closed out a commanding 15–4 victory.
