Men's Lacrosse Rolls Over Mariners In Midweek Matchup
WESTON, Mass. -- The Pride were back in action this afternoon taking on the Mariners of Mitchell College in another Great Northeast Athletic Conference matchup. The Pride would send the Mariners packing, winning 20-2. With the win, the Pride's record improves to 4-4, and 3-3 in GNAC play.
Jack Jaynes would make his presence known, tallying six goals and one assist.
Nathan Mahoney provided the Mariners two tallies while Cameron Haefs turned away 12 shots in just 20 mintues of action.
How it Happened
Seven different players found the back of the net with Jack Jaynes leading the charge with six goals and one helper, while Nick Klein added four goals and two assists. Alex Dougenik would add four of his own as well. On the Defensive end Colin McGarrry would cause four turnovers as Ian Brown and Matt Cabassa each added three. In net, Devin Hammon got the victory.
The Pride put together a dominant performance rolling to a 20–2 victory. After peppering the goalie with shots early, Regis broke through midway in the first quarter and quickly caught fire, closing the period on a 5–0 run behind multiple goals from Jack Jaynes and strong playmaking by Matt Cabassa. The momentum carried into the second quarter, where Regis controlled faceoffs, forced constant turnovers, and extended the lead to 10–1 by halftime, with Nick Klein and Jaynes leading the scoring surge. In the second half, Regis continued to overwhelm Mitchell on both ends, highlighted by balanced scoring from Alex Dougenik, Ian Brown, and others, while the defense and goalie Devin Hammon limited quality chances. A late third-quarter push and a high-scoring fourth sealed the blowout, showcasing Regis' depth, dominance in possession, and relentless offensive pressure throughout the game.
