Men's Lacrosse Slated for Ninth in GNAC Preseason Poll
WESTON, Mass. — As voted on by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) coaches, the Regis College men's lacrosse team has been selected ninth in the conference preseason poll with 63 points. Reigning champion Rivier claimed the top spot with seven first-place votes and 157 total points, followed by Lasell and Emmanuel, who earned four and two first-place votes, respectively.
Offensively, the Pride return their top point scorer in junior Jack Jaynes, who has led the Regis attack since his rookie campaign. Jaynes recorded 28 goals and 21 assists last season and tied the program's single-game record with 12 points (six goals, six assists) in a 17–7 victory over Albertus Magnus. He will be joined by Nick Klein, who totaled 18 goals and six assists a year ago.
On the defensive end, Colin McGarry leads the unit after pacing the team in ground balls and caused turnovers last season. McGarry also became the program's all-time leader in caused turnovers with 82. In goal, Devin Hammon anchors the Pride after making 121 saves last season, bringing his career total to 299 - fourth-most in program history.
Entering his second year at the helm, head coach Scott Kessler has added four new faces to complement the team's veteran leadership as the Pride look to turn heads across the GNAC this spring.
