Smith, back for his second year as assistant at Regis, arrived after two seasons as the head coach of Narragansett Regional High School in Baldwinville, Mass. Smith also served as the girls' junior varsity head coach at Hudson High School in 2002-03. For the past seven summers, Smith has been a staff member of the Jim Calhoun Basketball Camp in Storrs, Conn., as well as founding the Professor Hoops Basketball Academy and coaching at the Holy Cross Basketball Camp each of the past three summers.
Coach Hager's comments on Smith:
"Nick is a fantastic basketball mind and a tremendous teacher, but more importantly, he is no stranger to Division III athletics. He embodies all the philosophies we hold in high regard here at Regis. Nick's background in recruiting along with his work ethic and energy will allow us to continue to recruit high-level student-athletes and to push towards becoming the hardest working team in basketball."
Smith will play an important role in the Pride's strength and conditioning program along with all aspects of recruiting, player development, and post play.
Nick resides in Leominster, MA and is a personal training consultant for P & P INC.
