Harvey Powers Pride Past Seahawks to Close Out 2025
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — On the second day of the Music City Classic, hosted by Welch College, Regis College men's basketball defeated Saint Mary's College of Maryland, 70–61, to close out the 2025 calendar year with a 7–4 record heading into the new year.
Jamir Harvey led the Pride with 24 points on 10-of-19 shooting while adding 12 rebounds. Jeffrey Herbin and Ned Fitzpatrick rounded out the scoring with 12 and 10 points, respectively, in the victory.
The Seahawks were paced by Korey Blair, who finished with 21 points on 7-of-12 shooting, while Jake Koverman contributed 16 points and seven rebounds in the effort.
How It Happened
Six minutes into the opening half, six points apiece from Herbin and Harvey helped the Pride double up the Seahawks, 12–6. Harvey later accounted for seven of the Pride's eight points during a run that pushed the lead to 24–11 with under six minutes remaining in the half. Regis maintained control and led by as many as 15 following a Fitzpatrick jumper before a Seahawks three-pointer at the buzzer sent the teams into the break with the Pride ahead, 31–20.
Saint Mary's chipped away early in the second half, pulling within six after a jumper from Koverman made it a 37–29 game just over three minutes in. However, a Harvey tip-in at the 12:51 mark sparked a 10–0 Pride run that extended the lead to 17 at the midway point of the half. Two minutes later, a bucket from Devon Reid gave Regis its largest advantage of the game at 56–36. The Seahawks made one final push, using several three-pointers to cut the deficit to eight on multiple occasions, but could not get over the hump as the Pride held on for the 70–61 victory.
