Winter 2022 Senior Spotlight - Men’s Basketball
WESTON, Mass. – Prior to the final regular season home game of the 2021-22 season against Johnson & Wales Feb. 17, the seniors within the Regis College men's basketball team were recognized for their significant contributions to the program.

Marc Trinidad (Bronx, N.Y.) finished his collegiate career with exactly 1,000 career points, the sixth player in program history to reach that mark. To reach that plateau, Trinidad broke the Pride single-game scoring record with 35 points at Albertus Magnus during the team's GNAC Tournament quarterfinal game Feb. 23. He also finished second in career field goal percentage at 51.2 percent, third in career blocks with 88, and fifth in career rebounds with 596. In 2021-22, Trinidad started all 19 games he appeared in for the Pride, averaging 18.2 points, 8.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.2 steals, and 1.5 blocks per game. He set the Regis single-season record for highest scoring average and finished with the third-highest single-season rebounding average in program history. Trinidad became the first Regis men's basketball player to be voted First Team All-GNAC since the Pride joined the conference starting in the 2017-18 season. |

Jalil Wilkerson (New Haven, Conn.) appeared in 66 games during his collegiate career, averaging 7.0 points, 2.9 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.8 steals per game. He set the Regis single-season steals record with 75 steals during the 2021-22 season and moved up into third place on the Pride career steals list with 116. He also dished out 73 assists this past season, ninth-most in a single season in program history. Wilkerson appeared in 24 games for the Pride in 2021-22, including 23 starts, and averaged 10.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 3.1 steals per game. He led the GNAC and finished eighth in all of Division III in steals per game as well as 12th in the country in total steals. Wilkerson scored a career-high 20 points in back-to-back games against Dean Feb. 8 and at Albertus Magnus Feb. 10, plus he helped the Pride win at Lasell Jan. 26 with seven steals, seven rebounds, and four assists. |
In May, Trinidad received his bachelor's degree in exercise science, while Wilkerson earned his bachelor's degree in sport management with a minor in athletic coaching. Trinidad was a two-time NABC Honors Court honoree and a three-time Academic All-GNAC selection, and Wilkerson contributed to the Regis athletic department as an intern within the sports information office during the Spring 2022 semester.
The Regis College men's basketball team finished the 2021-22 season with a 13-13 overall record, including a 9-9 mark within the GNAC. The Pride defeated Colby-Sawyer in the first round of the GNAC Tournament to advance to the quarterfinals against Albertus Magnus.
