PRIDE BEGIN TITLE DEFENSE ON NOVEMBER 13TH
Ninth season Head Coach Nate Hager is proud to announce the 2015-16 game schedule for the Regis College men’s basketball team, which will feature 12 home games and nine non-conference opponents. This past season, the Pride won their first ever New England Collegiate Conference Championship, defeating Southern Vermont College 74-72. Regis also clinched their first NCAA Division III Tournament bid with the victory in the conference championship game. The Crimson and Gold are returning 10 players from last year’s squad including All-NECC First Team selection Sam Jean-Gilles (Melrose, Mass.) and Second Team selection Jeff Tagger Jr. (Brockton, Mass.).

Regis opens up the new campaign with contests against five straight non-conference opponents. On Friday, November 13th and Saturday November 14th the Pride host the Coaches vs. Cancer Greater Boston Shootout Tournament on Higgins Court. The Crimson and Gold host former Commonwealth Coast Conference foe Wentworth on Friday at 5:00 p.m. which is Regis' first game of the season. The Pride will play either Emerson or Emmanuel in the consolation (3:00 p.m.) or championship (5:00 p.m.) game on Saturday.
Three days later, the squad heads out on the road for their first away contest of the season as they travel to the 2014-15 North Atlantic Conference Champion Colby-Sawyer Chargers for a 7:00 p.m. game. Regis remains out on the road for their next duel as they head to Wheaton on Saturday, November 21st for matinee Basketball with the Lyons at 1:00 p.m. Regis and Wheaton have met three times with the Lyons holding the 3-0 series advantage over the Pride. The Crimson and Gold wrap up the month of November as they return to campus on Sunday, November 29th for a 3:00 p.m. contest against New England Small College Athletic Conference powerhouse Colby.
The Pride begin conference play and the month of December as they return to the site of their shocking NECC Championship victory, the Mountaineer Athletic Center, to square off against Top-25 vote getter Southern Vermont on Thursday, December 3rd at 8:00 p.m. Regis returns to Weston two days later, for their first NECC home contest against Daniel Webster on Saturday, December 5th at 3:00 p.m in a rematch of the 2015 NECC Semifinals.
Regis has a 15 day layoff between games as the team returns to the courts on Sunday, December 20th to take on Huntingdon College in the Oglethorpe Holiday Tournament with tip off slated for 4:00 p.m. The Pride will stay overnight in Atlanta and play in either the consolation or championship game the following day against either the host Stormy Petrel's or Mount St. Vincent College.
After returning from winter break, the Pride resume action with their last two non-conference games of the season, the first on Saturday, January 2nd against 2014-15 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Champion Westfield State with tip-off set for 5:30 p.m. The final non-conference bout takes place on Wednesday, January 6th as the Crimson and Gold welcome UMass-Dartmouth to Weston for a 7:00 p.m. contest.
Five of the remaining eight games during the month of January are away contests for the Pride. Regis travels to Newbury on January 9th for a 2:00 p.m. showdown with the Nighthawks. The Pride return home for a game as they host conference foe Becker on Thursday, January 14th at 6:00 p.m. Two days later, the Crimson and Gold head out on a brief two-game road trip. On January 16th, the Pride head out west to Chicopee for a 1:00 p.m. tip-off against Elms and three days after their contest with the Blazers, the Crimson and Gold travel to Mitchell for a 6:00 p.m. duel with the Mariners.
Regis returns home on Saturday, January 23rd for their second meeting of the season with Southern Vermont at 3:00 p.m. and the Pride remain in Weston for their next contest against Lesley on Tuesday, January 26th at 6:00 p.m.
The Crimson and Gold travel off campus for their next three games, the first at Wheelock on Thursday, January 28th at 8:30 p.m., the second which is the Prides' last contest in January, at Daniel Webster on Saturday the 30th at 3:00 p.m. and the final match of road trip opens the month of February against Becker on the 2nd at 6:00 p.m.
Four of the last five regular season contest including three games in a row are held on Higgins Court. Regis welcomes Mitchell to campus for their second date of the season with the Mariners on Thursday, February 4th with tip-off slated for 8:00 p.m. Two days later, the Crimson and Gold host Newbury at 1:00 p.m. and after a week hiatus, the Crimson and Gold square off against Elms for the second time this year at 4:00 p.m.
Regis ships off to Boston to face Lesley on Tuesday, February 16th at 8:00 p.m. and two days later on Thursday, the Pride host Wheelock in their regular season finale on Higgins Court with tip-off set for 7:00 p.m.
The NECC First Round will be held on Tuesday, February 23rd with the NECC Semifinals set for Friday, February 26th and the championship game to be played Saturday.
