Regis College field hockey freshman midfielder Victoria McAuley (Latham, N.Y.) has been named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Rookie of the Week, it was announced by the league's offices on Monday morning.
WESTON, Mass. – Regis College field hockey freshman midfielder Victoria McAuley (Latham, N.Y.) has been named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Rookie of the Week, it was announced by the league's offices on Monday morning. McAuley helped the Pride (2-6) capture a pair of wins this week over Colby-Sawyer and Johnson & Wales University for their first victories of the season.
Fresh off a 2-1 overtime win over the Chargers on Thursday evening, the Pride continued their hot streak on Saturday morning with a 5-0 win over the Wildcats. McAuley struck for her first four career goals, including the game-winner, to lead Regis in the win.
McAuley and the Pride will be back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 25 when they host Gordon College at 6:00 p.m.
