Weston, Mass. ---The Regis College field hockey team was defeated by Endicott College Saturday (Oct. 16) by the score of 7-1.  The Pride moves to (4-11) overall on the season and are (1-6) in the Commonwealth Coast Conference.  The visiting Gulls improve to (9-6) overall on the season and are (4-3) in TCCC play.

Leading the Pride on defense was freshman goalkeeper Morgan Mitchell (Ashburnham, Mass./Oakmont Regional) who started in goal and recorded 19 saves on the game.  Shannon Bradish (Lawrence, Mass./Central Catholic) helped out the Pride's defense by stopping a shot by the Gulls Lindsey Mills (Arlington, Mass. / Arlington) to record a defensive save. The Gulls scored in the first period when Joanne Reid (Clarksville, Md. / River Hill) was able rifle a shot into the back of the net. The Gulls went up 1-0, but soon added to their lead when Caitlin Keating (York, Maine / York) was able to deflect a pass from Reid and double the score for a 2-0 lead.

In the closing minutes of the first period the Pride were able to penetrate the Gulls defensive zone. Freshman Christine O' Toole (Wareham, Mass. /Wareham) was able to convert a pass from Candace Ferry (Malden, Mass./Bishop Fenwick) and find the back of the net.  The Pride entered halftime with the score being 5-1 in favor of Endicott.

The Gulls switched up goalkeepers at the beginning of the second half with freshman Rachel Socolow (Westford, Mass. / Westford Academy) taking over for Lizetta Solarik (Carmel, N.Y. / North Salem). Socolow played a strong second period keeping the Pride offense scoreless. Joanne Reid opened up the scoring in the second period, followed by teammates Taylor Matties (Saratoga Springs, N.Y. / Saratoga Springs) and Alison Forques (Auburn, Maine / Edward Little) who each tallied a goal a piece.

The Pride are set to play in their final regular season match-up against Gordon College Satuday (Oct. 23) at the Regis College Athletic Fields.

The Gulls travel to Standish Maine October, 20 to take on the Monks from Saint Josephs College at 3:00 pm.
