Pride to Tee Off New Era with Launch of Men's Golf in 2027-28 Academic Year
WESTON, Mass. — Director of Athletics Mark Clemente is pleased to announce the addition of men's golf as a varsity sport at Regis College beginning in the Fall of 2027. The introduction of men's golf, along with the previously announced return of men's and women's tennis, will bring the Pride's varsity offerings to 21 sponsored sports.
The addition marks the first men's golf program in Regis College history and represents the continued growth of the department's commitment to providing a broad-based NCAA Division III athletic experience for student-athletes.
"We are excited to announce the addition of men's golf as a varsity sport at Regis College, marking the introduction of this program for the first time in our history," said Clemente. "This is an important step forward in expanding opportunities for our student-athletes and continuing our commitment to providing a well-rounded and meaningful NCAA Division III experience.
"The addition of men's golf will create new pathways for prospective student-athletes who value both academic excellence and the opportunity to compete at a high level. At Regis, we believe athletics serve as an extension of the classroom, and golf offers a unique environment where discipline, focus, and integrity are developed in ways that directly complement our academic mission.
"We are confident that men's golf is a perfect fit for Regis College. It reflects the values we hold dear—commitment, sportsmanship, and personal growth—while enhancing the overall vitality of our campus community. This program will not only broaden our competitive offerings but also add tremendous value and spirit to our athletic department.
"We look forward to welcoming our first group of student-athletes and building a program that embodies the Regis tradition both on the course and in the classroom."
The launch of men's golf follows the recent announcement that men's and women's tennis will return to varsity competition in Fall 2027. Together, the additions reflect the College's continued investment in expanding athletic opportunities while enhancing campus life and student engagement and the department's commitment to growth and providing opportunities for student-athletes to excel academically, athletically, and personally.
A national search for the program's inaugural head coach will begin in the coming months, with recruiting efforts for the first varsity roster set to commence ahead of the program's debut season in 2027-28.
Additional information will be released as they become available.
