GNAC Unveils 2025-26 Commissioner’s Cup Final Standings
WESTON, Mass. – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) released its 2025-26 Commissioner's Cup standings Monday afternoon, with Saint Joseph's College of Maine earning the men's title and Emmanuel College capturing the women's crown. Regis College placed eighth in the men's standings and ninth in the women's standings.
The GNAC Commissioner's Cup recognizes the conference institution that achieves the highest level of athletic success throughout the academic year. Standings are determined through a point system based on conference postseason performance and adjusted by percentage to account for the number of sports sponsored by each member institution.
Schools receive five points for winning a GNAC Championship, four points for advancing to a conference championship game, three points for reaching a semifinal, two points for qualifying for a conference tournament, and one point for sponsoring the sport.
On the men's side, all eight Regis programs qualified for their respective GNAC postseason tournaments, accounting for 40 percent of the total points available. Men's soccer highlighted the year by earning the program's first-ever GNAC home playoff match after finishing third in the conference standings. Men's lacrosse also made history, securing its first GNAC Tournament berth and first postseason appearance since competing in the NECC in 2017.
The women's total was led by women's volleyball and women's soccer. Women's volleyball collected four points after advancing to the GNAC Championship match, a postseason run that included two road upsets, highlighted by a victory over top-seeded Emmanuel that handed the Saints their first conference loss of the season.
Women's soccer added three points after a 2-0 road victory at Albertus Magnus in the quarterfinal round, advancing to the GNAC semifinals for the first time since joining the conference.
Additional contributions came from women's cross country, women's basketball, softball, women's indoor and outdoor track & field, and women's swimming & diving, each earning two points after qualifying for their respective conference championships or postseason tournaments. Overall, the Pride women's programs accumulated 42 percent of the total points available.
The 2025-26 academic year marked another successful campaign for Regis Athletics, with all eight men's programs and eight women's programs qualifying for conference postseason competition while several teams achieved milestone accomplishments and historic breakthroughs on the conference stage.
