Miller, Austin Named to CSC Academic All-District Swim & Dive Team
WESTON, Mass. - Senior Megan Miller (Quincy, Mass.) and sophomore Liam Austin (Boston, Mass.) have been selected to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Division III Swimming and Diving Teams for their exemplary performances both in the classroom and in competition, as announced Tuesday, April 2, by the national organization of strategic, creative, and digital communicators.
Miller, earning Academic All-District® honors for the second straight year, received All-Conference recognition from the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) at the 2024 GNAC Swimming and Diving Championships by finishing third in the 50 backstroke (29.61), 100 backstroke (1:05.02), and 200 backstroke (2:23.02). In addition, she led off the 400 medley relay to a third place finish for another All-GNAC honor.
A two-time team captain, Miller is currently seventh on the Regis all-time top 20 times list in the 50 backstroke at 29.54 seconds, 11th in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:04.34, and 14th in the 200 backstroke at 2:23.02. Active within the campus community, Miller is a Senator within the Regis Student Government Association for the Richard and Sheila Young School of Nursing, and she is on track to receive her bachelor's degree in nursing with a current cumulative grade point average of 3.60.
Austin continued his significant improvement off the diving board during the 2023-24 season, punctuated by an All-GNAC performance for placing third in one meter diving at the GNAC Swimming and Diving Championships. His score of 327.15 in the finals was over 70 points more than the score he produced at the 2023 GNAC Swimming and Diving Championships.
During the year, Austin established school record marks in one meter diving for five dives (162.75), six dives (223.05), and 11 dives (387.82) as well as the six-dive three meter diving record at 193.60. He was named GNAC Diver of the Week four times during the 2023-24 campaign. Part of a CSCAA Scholar All-America Team for Fall 2023, Austin is majoring in business management with a cumulative 3.62 grade point average.
With the selection of Miller and Austin, Regis' total number of Academic All-District® honorees so far in 2023-24 stands at 16.
The Regis College men's swimming and diving team finished in second place at the 2024 GNAC Swimming and Diving Championships, while the women placed fourth. Both teams received the GNAC institutional Sportsmanship Award, and head coach Diana Matthews was voted GNAC Coach of the Year in both men's and women's swimming and diving by her peers.
