WESTON, Mass. – This fall, Regis College has added club cross country to its roster of school sponsored sports. The team, which will be participating in four events this fall, immediately gained members from the school's existing track team in the form of the runners who focus on the longer distances.
Coach Brad Mish is excited about the new endeavor stating, "In the past Regis missed out on a lot of good runners because people who do long distance on the track also want to run cross country. Having a team should make us much more appealing."
When asked about the creation of the team, newcomer Jonathan Paul demonstrated the type a difference a team can make in the future when he responded, " I came to Regis because of the nursing program and because they had a track team. When I heard they also had a cross country club I was even more excited. I did cross country my senior year of high school and I loved it and I am happy I can do it again."
The team is currently seeking new members within the school. Anyone with interest should contact coach Mish at b.mish.99@gmail.com.
The team begins its campaign on Friday at the Rivier Invitational in Nashua New Hampshire.
