REGIS STRUGGLES AGAINST NEWBURY

Alibrandi has been averaging 8.2 points per game this season. Only one other Regis player had double figures Tuesday. Thorton Paul (Boston, Mass.) contributed 10 points on 4-of-10 shooting from the field, and making two three pointers for the Pride.
The most recent loss moves Regis to 2-4 overall. As a team Regis shot 32 percent from the floor for the entire game. In two similar halves, Regis was 11-for-34 and 11-for-33 shooting respectively.
Regis grabbed just 37 total rebounds, six fewer than Newbury College. Two of the Nighthawk players had double-digit rebounds.
Senior guard James Cooper (Philadelphia, Pa.) finished with nine total rebounds, five being offensive rebounds. Both were team highs.
Regis had four more offensive rebounds than Newbury, but that was not enough to capitalize on second chance scoring opportunities. Regis scored just 27 and 29 points in the first and second half respectively.
The 24-point loss to Newbury Tuesday is Regis’ second loss of 20 points or more to any team this season.
Regis will look to redeem itself when it hosts
the Park Lodge Tournament Dec. 11-12. The Pride will host Westfield
State College Dec. 11 at 5 PM in the athletic facility.
