The Regis College Club Cross Country team traveled to Larz Anderson Park in Brookline this past Sunday to compete in the first of the USATF New England’s development cross country races.

The Regis College Club Cross Country team participated in the Wayland Cross Country Festival on Sunday afternoon. The Pride’s Owen McQuaid (Westborough, Mass.) and Jonathan Paul (Medford, Mass.) represented the club at the event.

This past Friday, the Regis College club cross country team competed in its first meet of the season at the Rivier Invitational in Nashua, N.H. Representing the Pride were runners Owen McQuaid (Marlborough, Mass.) and Jonathan Paul (Medford, Mass.).

This fall, Regis College has added club cross country to its roster of school sponsored sports. The team, which will be participating in four events this fall, immediately gained members from the school's existing track team in the form of the runners who focus on the longer distances.

Starting in the fall 2012 semester, Cross-Country will once again return to Regis College. The Club will hope to be the precursor in XC being an NCAA varsity sport for the 2013 school year. The XC Club will be open to all interested runners on campus, entailing a balance of structured practices and “on your own” suggested workouts, with selected meets for athletes to travel to and compete in as a team.
