PRIDE GRABS SIX SEED IN UPCOMING NECC TOURNAMENT
The Regis College women’s soccer team has been named the number six seed in the upcoming New England Collegiate Conference Women’s Soccer Tournament, it was announced Monday. The Pride (8-7) will travel to Chicopee, Mass. and take on #3 Elms College (8-5-3) on Tuesday night at 6:00 p.m.
WESTON, Mass. – The Regis College women's soccer team has been named the number six seed in the upcoming New England Collegiate Conference Women's Soccer Tournament, it was announced Monday. The Pride (8-7) will travel to Chicopee, Mass. and take on #3 Elms College (8-5-3) on Tuesday night at 6:00 p.m.
Regis and Elms meet for the second time this season after the Blazers posted a 6-1 victory over the Pride back on October 8th. Adena Joseph (Stoughton, Mass.) scored for the Pride, who only trailed 2-1 headed into halftime, but gave up four second half goals to Elms in the setback. Elms' Gianna Gorneault (Springfield, Mass.) recorded a hat trick, while Allyson Witaszek (Feeding Hills, Mass.), Jennifer Killion (Cambridge, Mass.) and Sevonnah LaRochelle (Chicopee, Mass.) each scored for the Blazers.
The Pride enters the tournament having won two of its final three games with a pair of 2-0 victories over Bay Path College and Daniel Webster College. Kristen Abreu (Woburn, Mass.) scored both goals in the win over Bay Path while Michelle Sirois (Easton, Mass.) recorded both tallies against the Eagles.
