Bio

The 2013-2014 academic year will be Liz Conant's fourth as the head coach of Regis College women's soccer and women's lacrosse. In addition to her coaching duties, Conant is a member of the Health and Fitness Studies (HFS) Department and teaches two courses, Sport Event Management and Promotions and Facilities Operations and Management.

Conant grew up locally and graduated from Wayland High School as a 12-season athlete. She was a four-year competitor for Wheaton College (MA) in soccer and lacrosse. She earned her bachelor's degree in Philosophy from Wheaton in 1997 before going on to earn two master's degrees: Athletic Administration from Springfield College in 2000 and Sport Management from the University of Texas at Austin in 2009.

Highlights from the Spring 2013 Women's Lacrosse Season:
- Team won the inaugural NECC Women's Lacrosse Championship by a score of 9-8 in OT over Becker College.
- Finished the season with a 13-6 overall record, which is the most wins ever in a single season.
- First-year player Samantha Salamone was voted NECC Rookie of the Year.
- Three players received first team All-Conference recognition: attacker Grace Politis, midfielder Sam Salamone, and defender Andrea Barbosa; goalie Emma Decker was named to the Honorable Mention team.
- Liz Conant was voted NECC Coach of the Year.

Highlights from the Spring 2012 Women's Lacrosse Season:
- Women's Lacrosse team had a winning record for the first time ever in program history, finishing 9-4 overall.
- Best season in every WLAX team record category including: Most Wins in a Season (9); Fewest Losses in a Season (4); and Highest Winning Percentage (0.692).
- Best season in every WLAX team statistical category, including: Most Goals Scored (187); Fewest Goals Allowed (128); Most Assists (32); Most Ground Ball Controls (365); Most Draw Controls (179); and Most Caused Turnovers (109).
- First-year player Grace Politis finished the season in first place across divisions in the NCAA Women's Lacrosse Statistical category Average Goals Scored Per Game (5.69 goals).

Highlights from the Spring 2011 Women's Lacrosse Season:
- Awarded the Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) Team Sportsmanship Award.
- Finished the 2011 season with 4-12 record and .250 winning percentage.
- The team scored a total of 115 goals, exceeding the previous best by 59 goals (56 goals in 2010).
- The Women's Lacrosse team won its first-ever TCCC game against Anna Maria, 13-8, on April 16, 2011.
- Women's Lacrosse player Teresa Busiek was the first Regis WLAX player to be recognized with All League Honorable Mention honors.
- Busiek earned the distinction of being the 2011 NCAA Women's Lacrosse Division III Statistical Champion in Ground Ball Controls category.
- Finally, Conant published an article titled "Implementing a Zone Defense to Play at Your Own Pace" in the May/June 2011 issue of Coach & AD Magazine.
