STEPHANIE CRAWFORD NAMED NECC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Several days after scoring her 1,000th career point, senior women’s basketball player Stephanie Crawford (Rockland, Mass.) has been named the New England Collegiate Conference’s Player of the Week, it was announced by the league offices on Monday afternoon. Crawford helped pace the Pride (4-2, 2-0 NECC) to a pair of conference victories over Becker College and Daniel Webster College last week.
WESTON, Mass. – Several days after scoring her 1,000th career point, senior women's basketball player Stephanie Crawford (Rockland, Mass.) has been named the New England Collegiate Conference's Player of the Week, it was announced by the league offices on Monday afternoon. Crawford helped pace the Pride (4-2, 2-0 NECC) to a pair of conference victories over Becker College and Daniel Webster College last week.
Crawford averaged 19.5 points per game in the pair of wins over the Hawks and Eagles. The senior guard scored 14 points on 7-for-8 shooting in an 86-45 win over Becker College finishing the game at 998 career points. Crawford's first basket of the game against Daniel Webster was the 1,000th point of her career and Crawford would go on to net 25 points in a 77-57 victory over the visiting Eagles.
The senior from Rockland, Mass. is currently second on the team in scoring at 15.8 points per game. She also leads the team in free throws made (37-for-41) and assists (17). Crawford has also been a force on defense as the senior has 13 steals and two blocks this year, leading the team in both categories.
Stephanie Crawford and the Regis College Pride return to action on December 29th when the Pride travel to Los Angeles, Calif. to take on host Whittier College at 5:00 p.m. as a part of the Purple and Gold Poet Classic.
