NICHOLS GAINS SCHOOL RECORD IN 74-69 VICTORY
Weston, Mass.Nichols College womens basketball would claim a school record 22 victories after defeating The Commonwealth Coast Conference opponent Regis College 74-69 Wednesday evening. Ashley Robidoux (Milford, Mass.) would post a game high 21 points for Nichols.

Robidoux would shoot better than 50 percent from the field (6-of-12), 66 percent from the three-point line, and perfect from the free throw line.
Joining her in double-digits were teammates Michele Guerin (Chicopee, Mass.) and MaryLynn Skarzenski (Woodbridge, NJ) with 16 and 13 points respectively.

Four Regis College players would post double-digit nights, but their combined effort would not outlast a solid Nichols defense. Junior Jessie Page (Quincy, Mass.) posted Regis high 19 points in 27 minutes. Page was 58 percent from the field, and 66 percent from the free throw line.
Senior Kim Mariotti (Springfield, Mass.) posted 16 points and nine rebounds for the Pride. Also contributing for the Pride was freshman Stephanie Crawford (Rockland, Mass.) with 10 points, and senior Laura Sears (Billerica, Mass.) with 10 points.
Sears is on pace to score her 1,000th career point this season.
Statistically Regis College was even with Nichols College throughout the game. Regis outscored Nichols in second chance points 20-13, and contributed 17 points off of 14 Nichols turnovers.
Regis College headed to the locker room with a 33-24 lead over the Bison. It would not be until late in the second half would Nichols close the gap on the Pride, and eventually take the game.
Regis College will head to Anna Maria College Feb. 21 in its final game of the regular season. Nichols College will travel to the University of New England.
