WESTON, Mass. – For the third time this season, Regis College sophomore Michael Beluch (Lynn, Mass.) has been named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) men's tennis Player of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon. Beluch led the Pride to a 4-0 week to conclude an undefeated NECC regular season.

In singles play, Beluch competed at the No. 1 position and was 4-0 on the week. He also teamed up with Jeff Parrish (Framingham, Mass.) in doubles play, and the duo went 3-1 at the top doubles spot. Beluch grabbed a crucial point for the Pride in a 5-4 win over defending NECC Champion Mitchell College after winning 6-4, 6-1 in top singles. The reigning NECC Player and Rookie of the Year only dropped one game in wins over Newbury College (6-0, 6-0) and Lesley University (6-0, 6-1).

Additionally, the NECC has named the City of Boston, which includes the Boston Police Department, emergency medical services, and first responders as an honorary "Player of the Week" for their incredible work over the weekend.

Each Monday, the NECC recognizes outstanding performances by student-athletes of its member institutions from the week's athletic events. The tremendous effort by the Boston Police Department, emergency medical services and first responders as well as the residents of Boston and the surrounding communities deserved note.

Beluch and the Pride (10-8) will begin their quest for an NECC Championship on Wednesday, April 24 when they face Becker College in the NECC Semifinals.
