MANDIC, MCGOVERN, AND YERZYK TAKE FIRST PLACE FINISH FOR PRIDE
Weston, Mass.—The Regis College men’s and women’s swimming team hosted Mount Saint Mary College this past weekend. Both squads performed well and defeated the visiting Knights from Mount Saint Mary College. The men won by a score 102-70, and the women won by the score of 102-97.

The men were led by Djordie Mandic (Deering, Maine./Portland) who took a first place finish in the 50 and 100-yard freestyle events. Stephen McGovern (Dorchester, Mass./Boston College) swam to two first place finishes in the 200 IM and the 100 breaststroke events.
The Pride was victorious in the 200 medley relay with the strong swimming of Nick Yerzyk (West Hills, Calif./Chaminade College Prep), McGovern, Mandic, and Andy Laforest (Roslindale, Mass./Another Course), who recorded a time of 1:48.86.
The Pride also won the 200 freestyle. Yerzyk, Ben Perry (Chicopee, Mass./Chicopee) Doug Dunbar (Danvers, Mass./St. John's Preparatory) and Alex Caliendo (Windsor, Conn./Windsor) placed first with a time of 1:42.39. Yerzyk rounded out the day for the Pride with a first place finish in the 100 backstroke event.
The Pride's next event will be Saturday (Jan. 22) against Colby-Sawyer College with both men's and women's set to start competition at 1:00 p.m.
