PRIDE FALL TO LANCASTER BIBLE

Weston, Mass.-The Pride were no match for the Chargers in season opener, as they fall 2-0 to Lancaster Bible College. The Chargers opening goal was scored by Dan Carver (Hagerstown, MD) with 38:59 on the clock in the first half. Their second goal was scored by Travis Weyandt (Claysburg, PA) with 38:21 remaining in the game.

Lancaster Bible College did not hesitate as they started out with an overwhelming pressure that would put the Pride in a difficult position to make a move up the field. Carver gave the Chargers a 1-0 lead midway through the first half, which gave them the upper hand early in the game.

The Pride showed some perseverance as they fought their way through the Charger line with well-placed balls by freshman defender Wade Thongsythavong (Salem, MA). Although the Pride showed signs of being fatigued, they never gave up.

Regis College showed what they were made of on the field. Without having any substitutions, and defending what they could from the strong Charger attack. Andrew LaMacchia (Lynn, MA) showed his skill in front of the net with 19 saves at goal.

The Pride of Regis College competes against Lesley University Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at 4:00 pm.
