WILLIMANTIC, Conn. -- Sophomore Chris Robitaille (Canton) sank two free throws with five minutes left to spark a game-ending 12-2 run that lifted the top-seeded Eastern Connecticut State University men’s basketball team to a 66-58 victory over No. 8 Regis College in the opening round of the 2011 ECAC New England Division III Tournament at Francis E. Geissler Gymnasium.

Weston, Mass.—Freshman Ryan Chambers is featured in an article published by the Abington Mariner, his hometown newspaper. Chambers has appeared in all 22 games for the men's basketball team this season. He has scored a career-high 18 points twice this season. Chambers also scored the game-winning basket against conference opponent the University of New England (Jan. 27).

Beverly, Mass. – The Regis College men’s basketball team opened up a double-digit lead late in the second half against Endicott and despite a late rally by the Gulls, the Pride was able to hold on for a 68-63 victory in TCCC action.

CONFERENCE BATTLE ENDS WITH UPSET
Weston, Mass.—The lead changed nine times throughout the game, and a one-and-one attempt in the last eight minutes broke a 10-minute stretch with neither team holding more than a two point lead. With a three pointer by Garrett Harden (Worcester, Mass.) in the closing 5:30 gave Gordon a 49-46 lead, and eventually the win.

WILLIAMSTOWN, MA – The Ephs (2-0) beat Regis College (2-1) 58-48 today to win the Williams Invitational. After defeating Southern Vermont College yesterday to advance, the Ephs faced a battle today. The game was a hard-fought 40 minutes, but the Ephs managed to stay strong to pull out the victory 58-48.

Weston, Mass.—The Regis College men’s basketball team is set to play in the Williams College Tip-off Tournament this Friday (Nov. 19).The Pride will travel to Williams-town, Massachusetts to take on SUNY-Cobleskill at 7:00 p.m. This is first scheduled game of the tourney for the Pride. The Pride enters the contest 1-0 after defeating New England Collegiate Conference member Lesley University earlier this week. The Fighting Tigers enter the contest with a record of 0-1 after losing to Little East Conference member Western Connecticut State University earlier this week.

Derrick Neal (Boston, MA/Brighton) led the Pride with 12 points, while Darrin Kelly (South Dennis, MA/Dennis-Yarmouth) scored all of his 11 after halftime as the Pride let a 10-point second half lead slip away, only to hold on in the closing minute.

MEN'S BASKETBALL PREVIEW
Weston, Mass.—The 2010-11 Regis College men’s basketball team enters the season with eight returners on the roster. Out of the eight, six are seniors, and two are captains. This team dynamic makes one word come to mind. That one word is leadership. The Pride will look to senior captains Phil Alibrandi (York, Maine. /York) and Derrick Neal (Boston, Mass. /Brighton) to provide that extra dose of veteran composure that is needed when the chips are down. Last season the Pride had trouble winning on the road compiling a road record of 1-10. This season the Pride looks to improve in this area. A key to winning on the road is not making mistakes and finishing in every aspect of the game. Executing on offense and defense even to the minutest detail will help the Pride succeed in 2010-11.

This game will be a warm up for the Pride as they travel to Williamstown, Massachusetts to play in the Williams College Tip-off Tournament.
